After launching in 2006, Taboola has grown to become the leading discovery platform on the open web, serving a combination of the world’s best brands and the most respected global publishers. Using machine-learning algorithms, the Taboola technology analyzes hundreds of signals to capture exactly what kind of content is most likely to engage each individual, with more than one billion unique users a month. Taboola looked at a number of local teams and solutions, but were convinced that Galil Software’s R&D extension team was what they needed. With an initial team of three developers, including a Team Leader, the following e2e responsibilities were defined: 1. Team receives requirements for a new tool which needs to be developed. 2. Team analyzes the requirements and designs a suitable solution for the tool. 3. Team creates jobs for build and deployment in Jenkins and makes sure the service is running on the server. 4. Team develops in relevant technologies according to the need of the developed web tool (technologies are not set; we choose the technologies and change according to the need, with a POC also developed). 5. Team develops unit tests for the code. 6. Team is responsible for testing the tool. 7. Team chooses a name for the tool. 8. Team maintains the tool after release and adds new features as required.

Founded in 2012, Via pioneered the TransitTech category by using new technologies to power public mobility systems, optimizing networks of dynamic shuttles, buses, wheelchair accessible vehicles, school buses, and autonomous vehicles around the globe. Via’s technology platform is currently used by more than 500 partners in 39 countries around the world– including local smart mobility projects such as, “Bubble” in Tel Aviv and TikTak in Jerusalem – to power intelligent transit systems, which help reduce private car use, decrease pollution levels and increase mobility options for disadvantaged to be there for 4 communities. At Galil, we were privileged to assume responsibility for critical elements of the project, including: high level design, drill-down specific designs per feature, and the implementation, QA testing and subsequent deployment to live/production multi-regional systems. The project is ongoing, creating constant new challenges as traffic and data grows. There are also requirements for new features, while working on day-to-day improvements to the system and building the next version. The Galil team provides support to Via and its customers around the world, including on-site visits when required.

SimilarWeb is a global leader in market intelligence, helping companies discover, decide and deploy their digital strategies by revealing the data for any website or mobile app. Thanks to their wealth of data, SimilarWeb insights are often used in leading publications including Bloomberg, BusinessInsider, TechCrunch and AdWeek. Their insights help businesses, publishers, marketers and analysts to benchmark performance against competitors. By enabling the comparison of website and app traffic and engagement, SimilarWeb helps companies define and execute their digital strategies and discover new opportunities. SimilarWeb looked at a number of outsourcing options, but realized that Galil Software’s Automation services solution, in terms of overhead, efficiency, and cost effectiveness, was the choice for them. Galil Software commenced work with SimilarWeb in November 2014, and quickly expanded to a team of 8. Initially, the Galil implemented an automation framework that has proven itself time and time again with other customers; maintenance is ensured on CI test runs, and there is an excellent coverage of tests. With a limited number of machines employed in the automation program, the overall number of test runs has been greatly reduced. Largely due to its proven automation prowess, the Galil automation engineers are now integrated into each Development team. This ensures even greater efficiency, with the automation teams aware of what is happening in real-time with the product (they are also part of scrums and sprints), and enabling them to write tests before production.

Galil Software started working with Sizmek in 2013 and quickly expanded from a small team of software engineers within just six months. In what can be seen as a very strong testament to the trust Sizmek have shown in Galil Software, Galil Software are now seen as largely responsible for maintaining the current Sizmek revenue stream, since the next generation of Sizmek products will probably not start generating revenues until 2016. And to reinforce that trust and partnership, Galil Software engineers no longer work on just maintaining one of Sizmek’s main products, they actually spend some 80% of their day-to-day activities on new features. As that trust in Galil’s expertise further deepens, the Galil Software engineers have also started integrating into the next generation product line. The Galil Software team have an impressive track record of delivery of quality software work, proving their expertise in Sizmek’s .NET web and SQL server environment (in addition to a range of other technologies). CLEW is a pioneering company in the artificial intelligence (AI) medical field; their innovative technology is fast challenging the limitations of the medical world in an ever-developing industry. Their medical insights use AI to help doctors in Intensive Care Units (ICU) to predict which patients in the ICU are at the high risk of imminent deterioration. Initially, the Galil team studied CLEW’s products and the development environment and charted the main requirements, best practices and recommendations to build a test automation environment and to customize it accordingly. After reviewing and approving the plans, the team started to implement and customize the Galil automation framework and to setup an automation environment and integrate it with CLEW’s CI process. Within a few weeks, an end-to-end automation test was in place which tested several basic REST commands for all product micro services; each service has its own standalone test and in less than 2 months a sanity suite was up and running.

Vocalis Health develops an artificial intelligence-based platform that uses voice to evaluate an individual’s health status. Healthcare providers can leverage a remote patient’s voice interaction through a call center or smart device; in turn, this enables providers to passively track millions of patients that live with a range of voice-affecting diseases, like chronic respiratory or cardiac conditions. With the Coronavirus dramatically impacting healthcare around the globe in 2020, Vocalis Health decided to launch new vocal biomarkers via new Web and mobile applications; the battle with Coronavirus suddenly went very vocal! Vocalis Health had three different but simultaneously urgent projects they wanted Galil Software to work on – within just 3 months Galil Software developed the following apps: Vocalis Tracker: Web application built and deployed to the cloud which displays tracking data and charts according to voice recordings submitted daily by users. This app enables the tracking of COVID-19 / COPD symptoms, using Vocalis Health’s proprietary algorithms. The app was built using Node.JS for the Back-end together with a MongoDB database and React/Redux for the Front-end based on designs provided by Vocalis Health. Android and iOS native apps for COVID-19 illness identification: These apps include a questionnaire and the ability to record the patient’s voice; the voice recording goes through a noise reduction process and is then sent to the server for analysis by Vocalis Health’s algorithms. Based on analysis of the questionnaire and the voice recording, the application determines if the patient should seek medical help, or other options. Both apps were delivered and uploaded to Play Store and the App Store. Mobile Web App: This app offers the same functionality as the above applications (Android/iOS), and can be “white labeled” (for purchase) and embedded in external websites.
